- What does Buy The Way do?
- A real-time shared shopping list app. Add items, check them off, sync instantly with anyone you share a list with.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. Lists and items are cached locally; any change you make offline syncs as soon as you reconnect.
- Can I share a list?
- Yes. From list settings, add a collaborator by their Google email. They see updates in real time.
- Is my data safe?
- Lists are stored in Google Firestore with strict per-user access rules. Only you and your collaborators can read or write your lists.
- How much does it cost?
- Free. No paid tier, no ads.
- Is there a native app?
- It is a PWA - install it from your browser to your home screen and it behaves like a native app.
- Can I use Buy The Way with an AI assistant?
- Yes. In your assistant (Claude or another MCP-compatible one) add the connector https://buy-the-way.danielebelfiore.dev/mcp, sign in and approve: it can read and update your lists, but not delete them or manage collaborators. Disconnect it any time from Settings → Connected apps.
- Can I delete my account?
- Yes. From Settings → Delete account: wipes your lists, profile, catalog and revokes sign-in access in one operation.
- Which sign-in methods are supported?
- Google sign-in or an email sign-in link.
- Are my lists encrypted?
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest on Google infrastructure. End-to-end encryption is not used so collaborators can read items.
- Which languages are supported?
- Italian and English. The interface switches based on your preference in Settings.
